Who taught you to LOVE being a women?
Calling All Maidens, Mothers and Wisewoman!
The RED TENT was a place where women would traditionally gather each month to meditate, consult oracles, share their experiences and channel wisdom for themselves, each other, and the wider community. It was a place where women cherished, nurtured and supported one another, where they could rest and rejuvenate.
But this practice has been lost, UNTIL NOW…………..
The last 2000 or so years have been dominated by men. We are a patriarchal society and women are second fiddle. But the Divine Feminine has rebirthed onto the Earth once again and and women are reclaiming their authentic power. It is not the ego based power we have been taught to recognize. Women’s power comes from within, comes from the heart, comes from BEING. The Dalai Lama himself said that “The world will be saved by the Western woman.”
Together we are building a woman-honoring culture for our daughters, grandmothers, mothers, sisters & selves. When women collaborate, they are energized and have power which ripples out exponentially into their homes, communites and thus the world.
Think of us as a crystal grid where each women is a crystal. The magic of a crystal grid is that the power of each magical crystal is amplified exponentially as each crystal connects and works together in their light. If each woman can shine brightly, then synergistically the sum is greater than all its parts. We can change the world, just like the Dalai Lama says!! Red Tent Circles support and encourage each women to shine brightly and come together in collaboration, mutual support, joy and love.
This will rebalance the world, restore harmony and co-create the New Earth!
What is a Red Tent?
The Red Tent Circles are a sacred space aligned with the natural lunar cycles for women where we can learn to reclaim our power and light as divine and loving goddesses that we are. These fun and soul nourishing events enable you to align with your inner self, other women and the greater cycles as we gather at the new moon to reflect upon the lessons of our last lunar cycle and focus and intention for the coming month.
Through the suppression of the Divine Feminine, women have disconnected from their true natures. Most women are so focused on getting through each day, fulfilling roles and pleasing everyone that they forget about themselves and who they are. Depression and anxiety rates are at all all time high. Do you think this is because women are happy? Is the current ‘formula’ for life the key to a fulfilled life? These statistics are showing us that it is time to review the way we live our lives.
Often these days, it is not man who put women down, but other women, in the effort to compete and be better than each other. Really it is to prove that we are worthy because deep inside we have disconnected from the essence of who we are. It is time for women to support each other to bring out the diamonds inside!
For me, I lost my mother when I was 13, and threw myself into work and school, setting out to achieve as much as I could to fill the emptiness inside (read my story here). I disconnected from the Divine Feminine within me.
After I left the corporate world to reclaim my true self, I have been fortunate in being able to connect with other women through craft and through my spiritual journey and experienced the magic of this community. It has helped me to heal the hole in my heart left by my mothers death and helped me to value and cherish the women in my life. I learnt to connect with the authentic Divine Feminine within and without. But I realized that this sacred space is largely missing from our society.
Observing the lunar cycle is the fastest & easiest way to reconnect with & empower your feminine sense of self.
Traditionally, girls would start attending the Red Tent when their bodies started to cycle with the moon. It was here they would learn about their fertility cycles & every facet of being a woman known as Women’s Lore, Women’s Mysteries or Secret Women’s Business…(the info not covered by school sex education, teen mags or the Girl Guide association!) In a nutshell, it gifts girls a mystical understanding of their womanhood. Including the effect of the lunar & seasonal cycles on women’s emotions, energy levels & psychological well being, as well as how to balance those cycles for greater harmony. This secret knowledge then engendered empowerment as women learnt the value of their bodies as physical temples & learnt to set personal boundaries accordingly.
It is now our opportunity and responsibility to reclaim our ancient heritage in a modern context.
What is involved?
The Red Tent is simply a gathering of women that occurs at the New Moon when girls & women are most in need of support, rest & reflection. A timeless tradition observed by ancient cultures it serves as a regular forum for empowering one’s feminine sense of selfhood.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is with the colour red?
We invite women to wear red to remember the blood actually is for life and whether we talk about it or not, women are connected to their cycles, the moon and to one another. It is a way to begin to honor the deep feminine in every woman. Red also is a pretty energetic colour.
Why is the Red Tent held at the New Moon?
Traditonally, women were bleeding or giving birth in the Red Tent at the new moon. In modern times, we are not focused on the bleeding as much as it focused on honoring our womanhood journeys in all our many stages. It is good to have one time that we meet. This means that you don’t have to be having your period to come to the Red Tent.
It is great when we are in our Red Tent Temples to know that other Red Tents are happening all over the world. The moon cycles are an ancient way for women to connect and we use this as our connection time each month.
The new moon is often a time for sowing the seeds of intentions for what we want to manifest later as the moon waxes. New Moon is the time of the month, 2 weeks after full moon when we tend to feel tired, inward & vulnerable.
It is for this reason women of all indigenous societies for thousands of years gathered together at his time to reflect upon their lives, offering emotional support & healing to one another rather than expect their partner to intuit & fulfill all their emotional needs.
If woman are bleeding at this time, this custom offers a time out, enabling them to turn inwards & rest & replenish when their lunar tide is out each month & their life force at its lowest ebb.
New Moon is also the time when our sixth senses are at their strongest, the subtle senses governed by the upper chakras or energy centers. When this coincides with a woman’s moontime she is even more sensitive to receiving insight & perceptions through practicing & honing her inner gifts.
Each circle is therefore an opportunity to reconnect with your inner self, other women & the greater cycles as we journey round the astrological mandala, working with the themes & lessons of each sign for greater wholeness & balance in our day to day lives.
How old do you have to be to attend a Red Tent Circle?
PLEASE NOTE THAT SENSITIVE TOPICS MAY BE DISCUSSED, SO PLEASE BE ADVISED WE CANNOT CENSOR FOR THE SAKE OF YOUNG GIRLS. YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SAY THE RED TENT CIRCLES HAVE AN ‘M’ RATING
The Red Tent is where women learn the sacred arts of healing, channelling, dream analysis & divination as our mystical feminine gifts. By honing these innate tendencies girls can further protect themselves by heeding their sixth sense & learning to read the signs.
Traditionally, it was also in this sanctuary that secrets were shared, wisdom imparted often through the oral tradition of folklore & myth, recipes exchanged & parenting advice discussed. It was in this safe environment that young girls learnt about the responsibility of sexuality, through the teaching of the love arts & through access to many mentors, they would come to understand the importance of their role as women in society.
Once young girls have had their first period, they may be initiated into the Red Tent. In fact, give me a call as we can have a short ceremony for them that helps them to love this time, themselves and their bodies!! Marking this rite of passage also helps both mother & daughter to acknowledge that the childhood phase has passed so new responsibilities must be accepted if new freedoms are to be granted.
Part of the Red Tent tradition is to bring back the rites of passage around the first menstruation as a gift and honour as opposed to what we were taught (periods are commonly called the ‘Curse’) in western culture.
If girls have not have their first period, they are not ready to enter the Red Tent but it would be wonderful if you could talk to them about the magic and mystery of the Red Tent to help them look forward to embracing their womanhood.
Women can bring babe in arms – up to 3-4 months old into the Red Tent.
What if I have been through menopause. Can I still come?
Of course!! The Red Tents are about honouring all stages of the Divine Feminine. If you have been through menopause, you are still in alignment with the moon cycles, you have just moved into the next stage of the Divine Feminine. I am particularly passionate about bringing back the value of the wisdom of the Wise Woman!!
